Welcome new friends from Wild Goose! (Exclusive content for attendees)

It was great to meet you at Wild Goose, or see you at one of our sessions. Read on for a bit more about us, our work, helpful resources, and ways you can be involved.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between the scholarship of religion and culture. We seek to do that in a variety of ways: events, publications, books, virtual meetings, online resources to include blogs, interviews, study guides, and much more. You can read more about Westar here.

Coming up in the next few weeks, we're launching a discussion group focused around Doing Theology in the Age of Trump. If you join us either via Patreon or our website, you'll have the opportunity to think through what it means to do and live out responsible theology in our troubled times, collaborate with other like-minded folks, and hear more directly from the contributors to this book.

Members also have access to our back catalogue of virtual events (which most recently included a series of Pride Month resources featuring a discussion on the clobber passages, a look at queer theory and activism, and other topics), plus monthly Q&A events and roundtables with Westar scholars.

We have our big annual meeting every year in Santa Rosa, CA where attendees have a chance to hear thought-provoking sessions from both scholars and practitioners (past guest speakers have included Marcus Borg, Diana Butler Bass, John Caputo, and many others). We have events across the country - and around the world - throughout the year as well. Check out our event page.

The Praxis Forum is an outgrowth of Westar that puts responsible Biblical and theological scholarship in the hands of practitioners (pastors, chaplains, activists, etc) through projects and events. You can find out more here.

We would love for you to join us in this work! In the mean time, here are the downloadable resources from the festival:

Karen Doing Theology Essay from Doing Theology in the Age of Trump

The Gospel of Truth from A New New Testament

We're excited about journeying with you!
