April Roundtable: For Such a Time as This? Ecotheology, Spirits Afoot, and the Bible Today

Classic "end times" passages in the Bible have inspired books, movies, and their fair share of panic through the ages.

But apocalyptic literature is not future-prediction, and viewing it as such does not help us better contextualize the unique times in which we live. In our April Roundtable, we'll look at the context of our current global pandemic in light of Native narratives of catastrophe and context, as well as through the lens of ecotheology. We'll discuss with scholars Wilson Dickinson and Mary Keller how the so-called modern "apocalyptic" experience exposes the exploitation, weakness, and frayed social fabric in our current empire.
