Ross captures many features related to the Gospel of Mark: the secrecy of Jesus and the non-stop action of the writing, then he places the narrative in our time through his graphics, dialogues, and even stranger scenes than those depicted in Mark. The exaggeration of Mark also drives home how unique the Gospel of Mark is when compared to its synoptic cousins of Matthew and Luke.
