Book Submission Guidelines

Polebridge Press welcomes proposals for books aligned with its mission. Polebridge’s mission is to publish:

  • Up-to-date reference works for biblical scholars, primarily in support of research on the origins of Christianity and the historical Jesus
  • Scholarly books produced by Westar seminars, research projects, and by individual scholars
  • Books and periodicals that disseminate the results of critical scholarship on religion to the public

To submit your proposal, please fill out the form below. A Polebridge Press editorial committee will carefully review the proposal and reach a decision in approximately 3–5 weeks. Please contact Academic Director David Galston with any questions or follow-up inquiries (

  • About the Manuscript

  • Describe why a book on your topic, written from your particular point of view, is needed.
  • Who will want to read your book? List the major groups who will be interested in your book, e.g. scholars, informed readers, a textbook for students.
  • List 2–3 comparable books to the one you are proposing. What sets your book apart from these other books?
  • A Microsoft Word document page with 1 inch margins, 12-point Times New Roman font, and minimal spacing elements, is generally 500 words for a single spaced page and 250 words for a double spaced page.

    Fourth R Submission Guidelines

    The Fourth R welcomes submissions by scholars with an advanced degree in religion or a cognate discipline. Submissions should be written for a non-specialist audience. See a sample issue. Send hardcopy submissions to:

    Forum Submission Guidelines

    Forum, a biannual journal first published in 1985, contains current research in biblical and cognate studies. The journal features articles on the historical Jesus, Christian origins, and related fields.
