In 1985, Dom Crossan and Bob Funk joined forces to lead the newly formed, controversial Jesus Seminar on a quest for the historical Jesus. Crossan has since become a major figure in the fields of biblical archaeology, anthropology, and New Testament criticism. In this fascinating and intimate interview, Crossan shares stories from his life before and after the Jesus Seminar.
John Dominic Crossan (D.D., Maynooth College, Ireland) is Professor Emeritus of Religious Studies, DePaul University, Chicago. He has written more than twenty books on the historical Jesus in the last thirty years, including bestsellers The Historical Jesus; Jesus: A Revolutionary Biography; and most recently, The Greatest Prayer. He is a former co-chair of the Jesus Seminar, a former chair of the Historical Jesus Section of the Society of Biblical Literature, and currently serves as president of the Society of Biblical Literature.
