Author: Paul Alan Laughlin
Amazon (DVD only): Getting Oriented
Description
From Westar Institute’s Spring 2005 Meeting.
Using his trademark humor and colorful projected images, Paul Laughlin will show how a positive step toward an emerging progressive Christianity is to engage the great Eastern spiritual traditions. He will make a case for the promise of the mystical strains of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism in producing a new, enlightened version of the Christian faith, with special attention to the transformation of such key doctrinal components as God, human nature, Jesus Christ, and the Bible.
Paul Alan Laughlin (Ph.D., Emory University) is Professor and former Chair of the Department of Religion and Philosophy, Otterbein College, Westerville, Ohio, where he teaches Comparative Religions and American Religious History, with a concentration in 19th Century American Metaphysical Religions.
