Elaine Pagels is Harrington Spear Paine Foundation Professor of Religion at Princeton University. She is the author of several books including Beyond Belief: The Secret Gospel of Thomas. Pagels publishes and lectures widely on Gnosticism and early Christianity and continues to pursue research interests in late antiquity. She has been profiled in The Atlantic Monthly, Vogue, Mirabella and The New Yorker.
