Thomas Phillips photoThomas E. Phillips is Professor of New Testament & Early Christian Studies at Pt. Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California. His academic specialties include Luke-Acts, Contemporary Literary Analyses of the Bible, and Social and Economic Issues in Early Christianity. He is the author of Reading Issues of Wealth and Poverty in Luke-Acts (2001), Paul, Letters and Acts (forthcoming in 2008), and Acts in Diverse Frames of Reference (also forthcoming in 2008). His course on love in the science and religion dialogue, ‘Love in Earliest and Contemporary Christianity,’ was recognized by the Institute for Research on Unlimited Love with an outstanding achievement award in 2004. Phillips is Co-Chair (with F. Scott Spencer) of the Society of Biblical Literature Section on Acts.
