Roy Hoover is Weyerhaeuser Professor of Biblical Literature and Professor of Religion Emeritus, Whitman College, where he taught courses in ancient Greek, biblical history and literature, capitalism and socialism in theological perspective, and world religions. A Fellow of the Jesus Seminar since 1986, he wrote a number of the papers that served as the basis for the Seminar's deliberations and has been a frequent participant in the Jesus Seminar on the Road Program. Roy Hoover is co-author (with Robert W. Funk) of The Five Gospels. The Search for the Authentic Words of Jesus, 1993. His published articles have appeared in Harvard Theological Review, Forum, The Fourth R, and Bible Review. In 1992, he received the Whitman College Award for Faculty Achievement.
