W. Barnes Tatum
Jefferson-Pilot Professor of Religion and Philosophy, Greensboro College, Greensboro, North Carolina

Barnes Tatum began his post-undergraduate studies in Bible and Christian origins at St. Mary's College, the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. He has also undertaken post-doctoral work at Duke University and Yeshiva University under the auspices of the National Endowment for the Humanities. His books include: In Quest of Jesus: A Guidebook (1982); John the Baptist and Jesus: A Report of the Jesus Seminar (1994); and Jesus at the Movies: A Guide to the First Hundred Years (1997). Widely used as a textbook in college, universities, and seminaries, In Quest of Jesus has been recently published in a Revised and Enlarged Edition (1999). His many articles and reviews have appeared in such publications as the Journal of the American Academy of Religion, the Journal of Biblical Literature, New Testament StudiesJournal for the Study of Judaism, and Foundation and Facets Forum.
